- I downloaded the digital version and regret it. The kindle app on my Motorola Xoom doesn't integrate the images with the text well. Sometimes ballistics tables are cut and rearranged, and the cut shows two different cartridges under one heading. Attempting to view .44 special ballistics up close, for example, shows a column of .44 magnum ballistics but cuts out the .44 magnum heading, making it look as if certain .44 special loads achieve astronomical performance. Firearm images are not always placed in the appropriate locations either. I find flipping pages on a book this large faster than trying to navigate the app. Still, the information from the book is available in the app for the cautious and patient user, at a lower price and with less bulk. The digital version is also more discreet for reading in public places (or for reading at home without revealing to the wife that you forked over the dough for yet another gun book). The publication itself is fantastic, and invaluable to any shooting enthusiast.
- I like the layout and general detailed sections in this book. There's a lot here for aspects on many firearms
however it was lacking some firearms I was expecting to read about. Not a huge deal as I can look that up elsewhere.
It deals with most aspects and semi-detailed analysis on guns, but they are short snippets of information. In other words, an availability of most of what's out there, minus a few I didnt see here.
Like a Savage FCP K 10rd 308 is a popular rifle and its not there. Norinco SKS's are not here.
Others absent while quite popular are the Windham semi's, and still others. There ARE a lot of brands listed
and perhaps the aforementioned are in earlier books. The ammo section, smithing, optics and a great ballistics section
are a plus. The book is well worth purchase and whats lacking here can be found elsewhere. - Book was considerably priced, packaged well, shipped fast, and received in good order.

Great comprehensive sections about guns on the current market and their suggested value.
Good ballistics charts and suggested prices for ammunition.
Lots of good quality colored and black and white photographs accompany the articles and the catalog gun descriptions.
This book can be easily used for gun and price comparisons, and as a reference for ammunition characteristics.

- That is what they are still worth they are not keeping pace with the flow ya know. Used to be that this and the shooters Bible competed but now they are cookie cutter copies and not even very good ones.I can think of fifteen or twenty rifles and shotguns along with pistols that you did not even show let alone talk about. You should have had photos from almost every gun show nation wide in 2012 but I don;t even think you know if there were any OK
dray - Wether you're a new gun buyer or not this book is a must have! I gives the prices of every conceiveable gun. I look up the gun prices before I go to a dealer or gun show to know what the retail price is before I buy. It's helped me make wise purchasing descisions. There is a gun I'm looking to sell and I was able to gauge what to put my "asking" price is based on the new retail price in the book. In my opinion, it's an invaluable tool.
- This the 7th copy of this reference on my bookshelf. On the first reading of this type of reference I usually go to the product pages that contain items that I already own, or that I'm very familiar with or to product pages for items I plan on purchasing. In nearly every case the item's description was incomplete or the data was wrong or most often, numbers were transposed.
I am aware that there is a great deal of detailed information carried on every page but the 104th edition of the 'Shooters Bible' could have benefited from a much more careful proof reading. - Shooter's Bible proves to be helpful in determining the possible value of firearms, but does not cover all the firearms that are commonly encountered. The valuing of a weapon is often a tad high, but gets you in the ballpark.
Is it worth the investment? Yes, and I would recommend it for those who deal in firearms valuing on a regular basis, just remember, it is only a RELATIVE value rating system.
