"I am a little torn about this one... on one hand, I enjoyed the story. I thought some things were a bit repetitive, but that can be overlooked. On the other hand, I really wished this was a harem. Everyone wants a shot at Alexa, and given the description of a couple of them, I'd give them a shot too. The issue I had was I thought if this wasn't going to be a harem, she would pick one... but she doesn't... which is fine, but I was a little thrown with the threesome. I didn't see that coming, given other paranormal books I've read. Vampires and werewolves don't like to share, however... I didn't mind it one bit! That part was spicy! I did enjoy the action with a villain Alexa wasn't sure she could defeat. It felt like it knocked her down a peg. I appreciated the character development of Shaz, also getting more vampire backstory was great. Sarah Puckett was fantastic. I haven't gone wrong yet with a book she's narrated. She really brought this to life. All of this is what makes this a 4 star!

- I am a little torn about this one... on one hand, I enjoyed the story. I thought some things were a bit repetitive, but that can be overlooked. On the other hand, I really wished this was a harem. 🎧 AudiobookObsessions - I'm done with this series. I think it would be better if it was about half as long. There was so much repetitive crap. Can't we make it a given that every time she goes into a house she takes off her shoes, and then puts them back on when she leaves? (Plus we get an in-depth description of her footware each time.) Can we also make it a given that the first thing she does every morning is make coffee and have two cups? If the story was in 2 or 3 days rather than weeks, it wouldn't be so annoying.
The sex was pretty dull and repetitive. No warm fuzzies here. And, she wants to have sex with everyone. Her aplha Raoul (1st book). Her vamp, Arys. Her were mate Shaz. Her vamp partner Kane. The new vamp Harold(?) She even had a few thoughts about her lesbian werecat partner (1st book). Granted, she only had sex with 2 of them(of course we had to hear about 'fighting off her needs'), but this still makes her a super sl ut.
Another thing that was very annoying; Alexa is supposedly this super powerful being that she can even take on the most powerful vamp ever. Then we find her running terrified through the park because some random werewolf is chasing her. (of course it's nothing that another cup of coffee and taking off her shoes wouldn't fix.) The whole book she's going back and forth. Super powerful alpha werewolf to whiny, crying, helpless woman.
I did read the whole book, but it was a struggle. I almost stopped at 40%, then 50%, and anytime after that. I finally made it to 86% and forced myself to continue, though I really didn't care how it turned out.
Sorry if this is harsh, but it's just my opinion. - Alexa is back in another action packed adventure! The power she holds has started attracting some very unwanted attention in the supernatural community. Unfortunately for Alexa, she hasn't learned to control that power. Can she learn to control her power to protect herself and the ones she loves?
Fair warning, this series does contain violence (Alexa is an assassin for hire, and a werewolf) and some sexual scenes. Content is for mature readers only.
Author Trina M. Lee delivers yet again on this novel - the focus is mainly on Arys's past, and we begin to learn more about what drives Alexa's dark vampire. At the end of the novel, you feel like you've started to know Arys better but the little tidbits are just a tease to his past so he maintains his super sexy mysterious appeal. Lee keeps the pace steady, moving the plot along and not allowing anything to drag on. Overall, excellent read! - The Wicked Kiss in the Alexa O'Brien series could have been a 5 star if it wasn't for the author's need to put in so much erotic sex scenes.
In this book Alexa has to decide to further her bond with Arys as his blood bonded mate and not just the power bond they share, her current werewolf mate Shaz is not happy about the choices however the other vampires are attracted to Alexa including Arys sire who wants to make her his blood bonded mate.
Let's just roll with the action and emotional choices Alexa has to make and her men put up with over play by play threesome sex!
A werewolf that shares his mate? Not in any paranormal book I have ever read and seeing as their personality traits are based on real wolves, would definitely not happen in real life wolf-land either!
I skip through the sex scenes, and just want the story to continue! Really not a need for play by play sex in this series of books. The stories are good and interesting and the fights move quickly. I definitely find the sex distracting an unneeded.
The story and the ending was great which is why I did give it 4 stars but with the sex scenes starting to be distracting, which I totally skim through to not read except any comments pertaining to the issues in the story I really would put it at 3.5 stars.
I really wish the author Trina M. Lee would just write the story it's a great storyline let it ride and fade to dark on the sex! - The obvious comparison Arys' being the most powerful vamp in the city, thanks to the boost in his psychic power, due to Alexa; the "homebody" wolf-lover, Ajax (granted, he is a wolf), and the evolution and growing power of both Arys and Alexa. Oh, and the constant sexual tension and growing cadre of lovers, all of whom she absolutely loves.
Yes, Anita is human (mostly) and Alexa is, well, half human, half wolf, half vampire, and something else... and mope-y and weak, too. Anita would have Alexa begging on her knees with a flick of her wrist, then take out all of the supposed bad-assets who would normally save Alexis with her other hand and, maybe, an eyebrow twitch.
It is too bad that this book is so wordy and boring, with such a weak main character. I have given Trina Lee two opportunities to win me over (the first and second books of the series, both of which I got as free downloads - boy, would I have been royally PO'd if I had actually had to buy them. Sorry, Ms Lee, I am throwing in the towel. I can't even pretend to be interested in reading any more of this trite, wordy, unnecessarily and overly descriptive story.
